2025 Clinic Schedule

Buckley

Colorado Cow Camp & Longevity Clinic with Lester Buckley

Tuxon Ranch, Hesperus, CO
June 13th – 17th, 2025

Experience Lester Buckley’s unique approach to horsemanship and cow working!

3 days of cow working in the arena, featuring a cutting simulator, herd work, separating a cow, and holding a cow – depending on your horse’s experience level. This purposeful application of your horsemanship will offer a lot of variety for you and your horse!

For the following 2 days, the focus is on “Riding for Longevity”: Learn to develop your horse’s emotional and physical fitness. We will cover suppling and collection exercises: what they are and how to use them.

Your takeaway will be the ability to structure a riding session, from warm-up and through to cool-down, in a way, using the tools above, to allow you to enjoy your horse for years to come and live a long, happy horse life.

Best Friends

Pathways to Partnership – Creating Trust & Understanding From the Start

Best Friends Horse Haven Sanctuary, Kanab, UT
October 18th – 22nd, 2025

This immersive experience is for you if you are new to horses, getting back into horses, have a new horse, or want to explore the world of natural horsemanship. Maybe you are even toying with the idea of adopting a horse or giving a horse a forever home.

The format of this clinic will be 2 days on, 1 day off, 2 days on, allowing you to volunteer at Best Friends on the day off or go explore the Golden Circle of Zion National Park, Bryce Canyon National Park, and/or Grand Canyon National Park that are all within a day trip’s distance!

During the clinic days, there will be a mix of groundwork & riding (where applicable) in group sessions as well as individual sessions. In addition to that, we will have theory sessions and simulations.
Bring your horse or lease one of the Horse Haven Residents!

As a special treat, you may choose to offer a Best Friends resident cat or dog a sleepover during your stay at the Best Friends Lodging options:

Cabins & cottages on site, or their Roadhouse Hotel in town!
LQ hook-ups are available too!

Your Clinic Experience

In each clinic, there will be participants who are at slightly different stages in their journey to becoming a horseman/horsewoman, which is great because you can get inspired by others or be the inspiration for others!

I will break things down into achievable steps and teach you at your level, with refinement & progress in mind.
