Your Exclusive 5-Day, 5-Night Getaway Awaits!
Start Your Day Right
Imagine waking up in your cozy suite or cabin at the iconic Red Cliffs Lodge, sipping coffee on the patio while the soothing sounds of the Colorado River or Castle Canyon Creek (depending on your room choice) set the tone for your day.
Picture yourself daydreaming about riding through the stunning Red Rocks before joining an optional Sunrise Yoga & Meditation session.
Time to Saddle Up
After a mouthwatering breakfast (seriously, this buffet is extraordinary!), it’s time to saddle up and ride!
This exclusive retreat is set in a historic location where trail riding and cow working take center stage. Whether you bring your horse or lease one of Red Cliff Ranch’s seasoned, well-trained trail cow horses – or both, this unique experience is tailored for natural horsemen and horsewomen.
But that’s not all! I’ve also picked unforgettable non-horsey activities for you to enjoy…
These activities are optional, but I’d hate for you to get a severe case of FOMO…! 😉
I Can't Wait To Share These Experiences With You!
You’ll learn more about these activities in the Itinerary below.
Arches National Park Sunset Tour
Dinner & Light Show River Cruise
Step Into Film History
Red Cliffs Lodge
Red Cliffs Lodge is a place like no other! Situated right along the Colorado River and surrounded by stunning red rock cliffs, the views go on forever.
From sunrise to sunset, you’ll never get tired of it!
This is the stuff that many, many movies were made of! To this day, it’s a popular set for Hollywood, most recently Kevin Costner’s latest project “Horizon”.
Marvel at this breathtaking setting while dining and when riding in the most magnificent arena.
Other than views for days, Red Cliff Lodge offers delicious food and live music at the bar.
Welcome to YOUR own Wild West experience!
Itinerary
Sunday, May 4:
Check-in and settle into the stunning setting of Red Cliffs Lodge & Ranch.
Monday, May 5th & Tuesday, May 6th:
Saddle up for arena work, trail riding & cow working!
Tuesday Night: Enjoy the Arches Sunset Tour!
Experience the awe-inspiring beauty of Arches National Park at sunset. Sit back as a professional guide takes us through jaw-dropping vistas of the famous Balanced Rock, Courthouse Towers, La Sal Mountains, and more. Short guided walks will lead you to iconic landmarks like the North and South Window Arches, Turret Arch, and Delicate Arch Overlook. Then as the sun sets, watch the sandstone monoliths transform into a kaleidoscope of colors.
Wednesday, May 7th:
A day of leisure. Explore Moab, play in the Red Rocks, lounge by the pool, get a massage, or horse around some more.
As if that wasn’t enough, visit the Moab Museum of Film and Western Heritage right here at Red Cliffs Lodge.
You’ll get to eat, sleep & play where John Wayne, Maureen O’Hara, Henry Fonda, and Anthony Quinn, to name a few, brought the Wild West to life in front of many cameras.
I’ll also be available for coaching from 9.30 am – 12.30 pm.
Thursday, May 8th:
Dive back into cow working and cap the day with the unique light show on the Colorado River.
We have been watching the water flow down the Colorado River all week, marveling at it from our home away from home, Red Cliffs Lodge, and driving along this majestic body of water on the way to & from town.
Tonight’s the night to get up close & personal with it!
For an ol’ time show and the finishing touch on a perfect day, come along and enjoy a cowboy-style Dutch oven dinner, before embarking on a slow-moving evening boat ride on a calm part of the Colorado River. See the desert and canyon walls in a totally unique way. Shadows and light cast on the walls make each tour a one-of-a-kind star and light show in a one-of-a-kind setting.
This program is an all-time favorite that has been running since 1963 and it is by far one of the most unique sound and light shows in the world.

FAQ’s
If you are coming from out of state, your horse will need negative coggins and a health certificate. You will NOT have to pull over at the “Utah Port of Entry” (located just outside of Monticello, UT).
If you are joining us from within the state of Utah, you won’t need any paperwork for your horse.

I will make sure that we have enough stalls reserved for our horses.
At check-out, the front desk at Red Cliffs Lodge will take your payment for your horse’s stall.
There are shared water troughs in the stalls but you might want to bring a bucket or two just in case. I personally like to hang a bucket with Whinny Water for my horse.
Yes! Shavings are included in the $35/night horse board.
Yes! You will be able to park conveniently in front of the stalls.
No, the team at Red Cliffs Corrals will take care of that, so that you can fully enjoy your Trails & Tales Experience!
The area where our first trail ride will take us is fairly rocky; Professor Valley is mostly sandy with occasional rocky sections.
Between 3-6 hours.
No, but you may bring your own saddle if you wish to!
Yes, there is a small gift shop where you can buy snacks, drinks, and other necessities.
I would recommend bringing some snacks and refreshments to have in your room.
There is a tap with filtered water in the room, however I have found it to taste a little strange. If you have a sensitive palate, I recommend bringing a couple of gallon-jugs of water.
